Do you have a friend or loved one that lives far away? What a perfect opportunity to send a handwritten note to say hello. Sure, emails and texts are definitely quicker, but the old-fashioned elegance of sitting down to write cannot compare.
For my project today, I’m using an adorable little puppy from Mama Elephant’s Puppy Play stamp set along with Carta Bella’s Pack Your Bags Destination Stripe stencil.
I first stamped the puppy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the middle of a 4”x 5 ¼” panel of white cardstock.
To color it in, I used the following colors of Spectrum Noir markers:
Cool Greys—IG3, IG4 (body)
Lights—GG1 along with blender—GG1 (beard)
Yellows and —CT1, CT2 (letter)
Brights—CR7
Pale Hues—PP1
Before using the stencil, I created a mask for the puppy by stamping it onto some Inkadinkado Masking Paper, cutting it out and placing it over the puppy.
I then secured the stencil over the card panel using some Post-It Tape.
Using a sponge dauber and Robin’s Egg and Surf ink from Colorbox, I blended the ink over the stencil so it covered the middle of the card over the puppy. I kept the ink light in some areas to give the look of raindrops.
After removing the stencil and the mask, I added a sentiment from the set right below the puppy being sure to use my Precision Press. I added a couple of small clouds I cut out of the Sizzix Unicorn and Rainbows die and embossing folder set.
I colored over the clouds with a little bit of Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. Wink of Stella clear would work well too.
A simple and sweet note to send hugs from far away. That puppy is so cute! Thanks so much for joining me today.
