When the candy corn comes out in the stores, Halloween is not far behind. For my project today, I did a 12 x 12 inch layout of the first bag of candy corn of the season. It’s completely gone already of course, but I still have the picture! I used Echo Park’s Bewitched Collection Kit for the entire page except for some older Thickers I had in my drawer for the title.
I’m a big fan of sketches for cardmaking, but for some reason, I just go off on my own when it comes to scrapbooking. I start with the picture, as I did here, maybe do a little matting with some patterned paper, then just start layering and adding parts.
I first started with a plain white piece of 12x 12 cardstock. I used the orange plaid paper directly under the picture to pull in the orange of the candy corn, then added the spider web paper strip underneath.
I kind of kept the left side of the layout heavier with the haunted house card and the sentiment, but then balanced out the other side with the candy jars in the bottom corner.
The candies were actually from the sticker sheet. I just tapped a powder bag on to the back to get the “stick” off and added foam squares to pop them up on the page.
For the journaling tag, I just cut out the shape from one of the patterned papers and added some stickers around it.
I kept the layout clean and layered for a more upbeat Halloween feeling. It was hard not to add more because this collection is so cute, but I think the white space works. Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope this layout inspires you to document your fun Halloween memories!
