Peg Rounds
Here is another different style of card that you can use for any occasion or theme. This is the Tilt Fold Card and just taking a look at it with all of the edges that are peeking out from behind you would never guess that it’s created using only one piece of cardstock would you? How fun is that?
Begin with an 8 ½” x 11” piece of cardstock. You can, also, choose any size cardstock that you would like. That’s another great thing about this design. Score the piece in half and then turn a half turn and score again. The piece should now have four equals sections.
Score the piece diagnolly from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. A ruler is a helpful tool to help line the paper up with the scoring grooves.
Fold in half and open it up and then fold again the other way as shown. Make sure your folds are crisp as this will be important to the rest of the folding of the card over time.
Fold the diagnol score line as shown and then open the fold.
Fold so that the diagnol score lines are folded inward and the rest of the score lines are coming outward. The picture above gives you a good view of how the card should look from the top down if it is folded correctly.
Hold the newly formed base down and make sure all of the folds are crisp.
Cut a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of patterned paper (Cream & Sugar by Doodlebug pictured) and attach it to the front panel of the card.
Now, cut a 4” x 5” panel and cut it in half diagnolly. Attach it to the triangle sections that are showing behind the front panel using a tape runner.
Die cut or use some embellishment stickers or stamped images to finish off the front of the card. These cups are from the Hipster Die Set by Spellbinders. You can, also, choose from these two awesome die designs: coffee dies.
Stamp a sentiment onto a piece of cardstock or if using the Hipster die set cut the banner piece out and stamp it onto that. Attach it to the front of the card.
Finish the inside by adding a sentiment to it, too.
When you are wanting to make a card that isn’t just the normal rectangle shape, pull this one out of your technique file and have fun creating. It’s a great design for a simple card, but with all of the extra folds it looks very elegant in itself. This is the perfect card look for cards all year round.
