My name is Heidi and I have been a papercrafter for over 10 years now. I love the process of finding inspiration and using lots of fun supplies to turn it into a beautiful project.

Lately, I’ve been breaking out some older stencils and experimenting with ombre ink blending. This is my comfort zone as far as mixed media is concerned, LOL! I love the smooth look of the blended colors. For this project, I used my Kaleidacolor ink pads along with the Daisy Flower Cluster stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop for even more color variation.
I like the Kaleidacolor ink pads because you can easily use each color separately, or by pushing the lever on the right side in, you can bring the ink pads closer to get an even more blended, ombre look.
I created multiple panels using the Caribbean Sea and Spectrum color varieties blending ink colors on the pad from top to bottom. To start, I secured my stencil onto the front of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ white cardstock panel with some Post-It Tape.
I used an ink blending tool to blend each color from top to bottom. This ink blends really well and is forgiving, so you can blend over and over to get the look you want.
With my panels finished, I trimmed off the edges with my paper trimmer. Now the easy part– assembling the cards for different looks! I kept it pretty clean and simple since I wanted to showcase the gorgeous colors of the ink pad paired with the stencil.
This is my favorite–I used a 1.75″ square punch to punch out little squares from both colors of panels and popped them up with foam tape. The sentiment is from the Hampton Art Clear Layer Flower-Amaze stamp set.
I finished the look with some Crushed Grape Nuvo Drops.
I love an angle panel, so I tried that here. I really like how the colors “pop” against the white cardstock. This sentiment is also from the Hampton Art Clear Layer Flower-Amaze stamp set. Nuvo Drops in Simply White highlight the sentiment strip.
I cut a tag from one of the Caribbean Sea panels and added an embossed panel using my We R Memory Keepers Woven embossing folder.
The sentiment is from the Sizzix Thinlits Celebration Word die set.
Another clean and simple card. You could make multiples of these from different colored panels for a gift set.
Four different projects from just a few stenciled panels! Quick and easy–I hope I’ve inspired you to get out your ink pads and start experimenting with stencils and color variations. Thanks for joining me today!
