One of the best things about fall is getting to go pick out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, but there are some who may not be able to do that. This year you can bring them pumpkins to them with this adorable pumpkin patch themed card. Are you already thinking of all the great times you had with a pumpkin? Send some good, fall oriented thoughts to someone you know and help them enjoy their memories, too.
Begin by using 3 consecutive sized oval dies (Spellbinders used) to cut out the pieces of the pumpkin from patterned paper (Autumn Gold Foil by Echo Park shown) or from cardstock using your die cutting machine.
Also, cut several sizes of leaves using the Stitched Leaves die by Lawn Fawn and lay them aside.
Adhere with a tape runner, a piece of 4 7/8” x 6 7/8” patterned paper onto a 5” x 7” card base made from cardstock. The paper in the picture is the back of the green foiled dots piece from the Echo Park collection.
Add some ink to just the edges of the ovals to give them a little dimension and shadowing. A dark color such as brown is a good choice for this step.
Add some tape to the back of each oval and place them onto the card base slightly overlapping the edges of the bottom two. You can turn tops of the ovals outwards a little to create the look of a fuller pumpkin. Place the last oval directly over the top of the other two.
Take 3 of the leaves and add tape to the backs of two of them and 3-d adhesive to the third. Place the two with the tape on them onto the pumpkin pointed downwards at an angle as shown. Add the last pumpkin pointing upwards at an angle.
You can mix and match the size of leaves to add a different look to them on the pumpkins, too. The pumpkin in the bottom left corner of the finished card shown at the beginning of this tutorial has the leaves shown in these pictures on it.
Add some leaves to finish off the corners using the 3-d adhesive to give them dimension and lift them off of the card.
Punch a small branch from a light colored piece of cardstock and add a little glue to the back of it. Tuck it in behind the leaves and allow to dry.
This year bring the pumpkin patch inside by creating and sharing this create card. It can, also, double as a great invitation for the upcoming Thanksgiving season. Nothing says fall like a great pumpkin card!
