Spooky Night Skies Halloween Card Invitation

It’s time to start thinking about Halloween!  I know, we’re just reaching fall, but Halloween will be here before you know it and now is the perfect time to start planning all of your projects.  This Spooky Night Skies card makes a perfect invitation to your parties or to a friend who likes Halloween.

1

Create a 5” x 7” card base from cardstock using your paper trimmer and scoring board.  Also, cut a 4” x 6” piece of black cardstock.

2

Using a circle die and die cut machine or a circle cutter and glass mat, cut a yellow circle that is approximately 2 ¾” and attach it to the black piece of cardstock using a tape runner.

3

Now, punch a cloud to use as a template from cardstock using the Extra Large Cloud Icon Punch by Martha Stewart.

4

Lay the cloud partially over the moon and lightly sponge white ink onto the left side of the cloud which is laying on the dark cardstock.  At this point, you are only working on half of the cloud.

5

Add some blue ink to one of the sponges and then remove some of it off the sponge by dabbing it onto a piece of scrap paper.  You are wanting just a light application of the ink.

6

Once you have removed enough ink from the sponge, lightly dab it around the right half of the cloud (the area that is covering the moon.

7

Using the sponge that you used to apply the white ink, lightly dab some white onto the blue to help lighten it up and give the cloud a wispy look.

8

Add some more clouds around other areas on the card.  For this step, you can use only the white ink pad to create them.

9

Add some tape to the back of the piece and attach it to the card base.

Pop the bats off the card10 for a 3-d look by adhering them with a 3D adhesive.

11

Punch enough letters using the Martha Stewart Alphabet Punch set to spell the words, “Happy Halloween.”  Remember to keep the additional letters so you can use them on other projects.

12

Attach them to the bottom of the card using a glue pen for easy application.

Now is the time to start creating some Halloween fun!  Be sure to head over to the CreateForLess website and check out all of the items they have for the season.  The time will be here before you know it and you will be ready with this great card or invitation and the supplies from CreateForLess!
