Paper Craft: Halloween Treat Invitation Pocket

Halloween is coming quickly.  Now is the time to be creating those special little holders to place the delicious treats in you will be handing out this year or if you will be handing out those treats to your party guests this holder can hold that special invitation to invite them to the spellbinding fun!

Begin by cutting a piece of card stock (orange used) that measures 4 12” x 9 “.  Score it using a scoring board at ¾” and 4” on both sides to create the tabs.

Score

Turn the card stock the long way and score it at 5” to create the fold on the bottom of the pocket.

Trim

Trim the sides of the longest piece up to the score line as shown in the picture below. This is the piece that measures 5” and will become the back of the pocket.

Measure and punch

Measure ¼” in from the left side of the bottom portion of the pocket and make a pencil mark.  Move just below it and repeat this step.  Now, measure ¼” from the right side on the bottom and make a mark and then move in a little keeping the mark lined up with the first and make a second mark.  Punch holes where the pencil marks and place a brad in each of the holes.

Round Corners

Round the corners on the back piece of the pocket and fold the tabs to the back and secure using a tape runner or ATG runner.

Rounded Corners

Using the Drippy Goo punch by Martha Stewart, line up a piece of purple card stock that has been trimmed to be 1” wide by 4” long and punch it out.  Repeat this step to create a second piece.

Drippy Goo Punch

Trim a piece of black card stock that measures 4” x 5 ¾” and run it through your die cut/embossing machine using the D’Vine Swirl embossing folder by Provo Craft.  Attach the pocket to it, using the tape runner or ATG runner.  Cut a second piece of card stock that measures 2 ½” x 4” and adhere it across the center of the pocket.  Place the borders created by the Drippy Goo punch on the top and bottom of these piece of card stock.

Cuttlebug

Fussy cut one of the witches out of the Halloween Green Witches paper by K & Company.  Attach her over the borders using a 3 dimensional adhesive.

Witch

Line up a piece of 3” x 4 ¾” card stock in your paper trimmer (Tonic V-Blade used) as shown in the picture to cut off the corner of the paper to create the tag.  HINT:  Save the corner and place it on the opposite side and trace it so it is easier to trim that corner.

Place a ¾” x 1” piece of black card stock in the center of the tag making sure it is adhered only on the sides, top and bottom, but not in the middle.  Punch a hole in the center of it and set an eyelet using the Crop-A-Dile by We R Memory Keepers.

Ink the edges of the tag using black ink.

Punch the word “EEEK!” or your choice of words out using the Alphabet Punch by Martha Stewart and glue them on using a Quickie Glue Pen by Sakura.  Outline parts of the letters using colored pencils.
